The Evil Dead franchise has long been a female-oriented horror series, even with Bruce Campbell typically leading the charge. Ellen Sandweiss, Betsy Baker and Theresa Tilly from Sam Raimi's original The Evil Dead have been collectively called "The ladies of The Evil Dead," and the 2013 remake provided us with a brand-new character from Jane Levy's Mia.
The upcoming film Evil Dead Rise brings Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan into the mix as the newest ladies of The Evil Dead, and Sutherland has shared an amazing photo on Twitter over the weekend. Sutherland and Sullivan recently reunited with the remake's Star Jane Levy, the trio taking a photo together in the form of the latest "Evil Dead" blood sister."
To clarify, Jane Levy is NOT the main character as a character in Evil Dead Rise, so don't read too much into the image. It's a simple personal snap from a recent hangout between the three Evil Dead stars.

Here's the official synopsis of the plot of Evil Dead Rise...
"In the fifth Evil Dead film, a road-weary Beth visits to her older sister Ellie who is raising three children on her own in the cramped L.A apartment. The sisters' reunion is cut short by the finding of a mysterious book hidden in the depths of Ellie's building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she confronts the most nightmarish motherhood scenario that she can imagine."
The shotgun and chainsaw (particularly the Ash's "Boomstick") is a classic weapon of the Evil Dead franchise. In the Evil Dead Rise marketing material the two weapons are featured in the new film but there's also a brand new weapon in the mix that's sure to become a fan favorite. Meet Staffanie.
Lee Cronin's Evil Dead Rise relocates the franchise away from the traditional rustic cabin in the woods to a Los Angeles apartment building. This is where Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland) lives with her three kids: Danny (Morgan Davies), Bridget (Gabrielle Echols) and Kassie (Nell Fisher). As Evil Dead Rise full movie (Lily Sullivan) is in town to visit the Necronomicon surfaces and funnels its evil directly to Ellie. As the only adult left standing, Beth takes charge, but the kids do what they can to stop their own mother's enmity, including little Kassie. Her weapon of choice? A handmade creation she calls Staffanie A combination of dolls and a precise staff.
While in Austin to attend this film's SXSW premiere Cronin took time to conduct an interview for Collider and highlighted Staffanie in the non-spoiler portion of our interview. When he explained how he managed to strike such an impeccable balance between sheer terror and classic Evil Dead humor, he utilized Staffanie to illustrate:
